What I like about the poster

What I dislike about the poster

This phychedelic like poster really caught my eye. The colours are unusual, yet all compliment each other.

Although I'm not sure what this poster is trying to get across, or advertise, but either way, it's somewhat eye catching, and intreaging.

It's high contrasted, highly saturated in colour, yet quite dark.

Of all the things I do like about this poster, there is still a part of me of which doesn't. The many questions I have about this are questions that should be answered through the poster, and not leave the viewer asking themselves.

Is it for a band? An exhibition? Or just random?

No one knows! well... I don't.

I really like this photo. The design has used as little graphics and text as possible, yet still achieved the fact that the viewers know exactly what it's about, where, when, who, and why, in just a couple of lines.

The large black photo I found very apealing. It's grainy, glitchy, and smokey (not litterally) photo, filling most of the frame, may not say a lot, but suggests that it may be for a certain culture, maybe young adults, who have a sense of vintage fashion, and are into rock bands and smoking.

I am a fan of Arctic Monkeys, and find this photo really reflects on their music. Infact, if their music would be turned into a poster/image, this is what it'd look like.

There's really not a lot I could dislike about this poster. Maybe if the image it's self, and the title were to go with the rule of thirds, to gives some more dimentions to it, and so it is easier to look at. But then again, I quite like the way it all falls together, imperfectly to graphic's rules

The colour. With a deep black, and a dark mustady yellow, it provides an all over bold look.

This dosn't mean it's hard to look at, but if anything, it is quite pleasing, as it's simple, and dosn't require your brain to do hard work.

As soon as I saw the poster, Imediatly, I was strucked and confusde with the image in the middle. The main thing I love about this poster, is that it's lack of writing, only leads people's attention to the photo in the middle, which I think, speaks for itself.

I really do like this poster, therefore, will find it very hard to find some things of which I would've done differently...

Again, I found the range of colours used in this, very stricking. With a cool blue/near terquoise and whites, provides the viewers an instant reference to somewhere, such as the Arctic. I love the bold, big, red writing. I think it's punchy, especially against that blue, and the rest of the colours, it really stands out. The fact that the image in the middle (linked to 'the black power' fist) shows power, giving it more of a sense that the poster is to fight for something, in this case, fighting fot the polarbears.

Also really liked that they incorporated a polar bear within the fist.

Again, this poster really is near to perfect. It includes rule of thirds, hsa the perfect amount of 'white' (blue) space, to frame the objects of which are most important.

And the big title really completes it.

I have no ideas of which I would've done differently.

This unusual poster, makes the viewers look just a little bit more. When realising that there is a mouth within the ear, imidiatly, it could've been thought that it is to do with hearing voices.

Although this isn't really the graphic kind of poster, it still grabed my eye, is it's unusual, and just like the other, the most powerful object (the image) is the largest, taking up most of the poster's space.

Although this poster fits into exactly what genre it should. personally, if it was me creating this poster, I would've used more attractive colours, and maybe add a little bit of a graphic side to it. Although it gets to the point straight away, and is realistic, I don't think it's very pleasing to look at. I think the large (ish) amount of writing and infomation at the bottom is too much. with the sponser and a quick heading (Hearing voices? Feeling paranoid? Talk to someone.), should be enough to send people in the right direction.

Compared to previous Start Wars posters, this is a lot more graphic, less detailed, realistic, but more relaxed. With a smaller image within a main image, it gives people (especially Star Wars lovers) an imidiate idea of what episode it is, and who it might envolve.

The fact that instead of using a harsh, bright, white, they've used a pale cream. This is pleasing to the eye, and gives it more of a soft look. I like the fact that the whole poster is really based on shilouetts, which leaves viewers to the imagination. The colours are really stricking, and the black frames the title 'STAR WARS' really well.

Over all, I'm not quite sure if I like this or not. I think it may be becuase of the chosen colours. They're very random, not in sinc, and also not very pleasing to the eye.

I really like this poster. I like the fact that it is almost iconic of James Bond (with it being a black and white shillouette, like the start of the movies).

I love the mixture of a graphic profile, all black and white, with red (blood like) fade, which leads onto the title, 'SKYFALL'. This is very powerful. With only a couple of colours, an image, and a title, this poster is very easy to read and understand.

Also, I like the fact that they haven't gone with the harsh white background, but again, a creamy grey.

This also goes along with rule of thirds.

Theres not a lot I can critisize on this poster. Firstly becasue it's simply an image, title, and tiny text. You can't go wrong with that... And secondly, it just works!
